The Nathaniel Witherell is a short-term rehab and skilled nursing center located on 24 beautiful acres just 2 miles from downtown Greenwich. Witherell is owned and operated by the Town of Greenwich on a not-for profit basis and has been serving the community for over 100 years.
We maintain separate and distinct neighborhoods for short-term rehab, long-term care and specialized dementia care. At Witherell we have consistent assignments to foster relationships between staff and residents. We are able to do this because we have a turnover rate that is 6 times lower than the State nursing home average. Witherell also promotes "Person-Centered Care"
which means respecting residents' desires to determine their daily routine including timing of services, menu choices, fine dining services and choosing from a calendar of events. To learn more about our social, cultural and pastoral services, click on the links above.
Lynn Bausch, Director of Nursing at The Nathaniel Witherell, explains how person centered care actually works, why Witherell has such a low turnover rate and what it takes to get a 5 star Medicare rating.
Peter Ness explains why he selected The Nathaniel Witherell for both knee and hip replacement rehab and why his wife Christine also came to Witherell for knee replacement rehab.
