Friends of Nathaniel Witherell Joins the Global #GivingTuesday Movement
Whether it’s $50 to fund a resident’s round-trip transportation to a doctor’s office or $3,500 to pay for a NuStep Cross Trainer for the physical therapy department, any level of giving can make a difference at The Nathaniel Witherell, the highly regarded short-term rehabilitation and skilled nursing center in Greenwich, CT. That’s why The Friends of Nathaniel Witherell have joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities, and organizations to encourage philanthropy and to celebrate generosity worldwide. This year, #GivingTuesday will be held on Tuesday, December 1.
“When you give to The Friends of Nathaniel Witherell on #GivingTuesday, you are helping to continue Witherell’s 112-year tradition of caring for the elderly of our Town when home care is no longer an option, and providing state-of-the-art short-term rehabilitation for those on the mend,” says David Ormsby, Chairman of the Friends. “Your gift goes a long way towards helping each of our residents and rehab patients. In fact, the theme of this year’s annual appeal is ‘Faces of Witherell,’ featuring photographs of some of those here at Witherell who will be positively impacted by your generosity.”
#GivingTuesday is held annually on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (in the U.S.), and the Black Friday and Cyber Monday shopping days. #GivingTuesday is a great way to commemorate the upcoming holidays by urging people to remember those in need in their local communities, and to give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.
Those who are interested in supporting Witherell’s #GivingTuesday initiative can visit friendsofwitherell.org and make their pledge online on Tuesday, December 1. Of course, donations are welcome year round and are always highly appreciated. For more information, please contact Scott Neff, Witherell’s development director, at 203.618.4227 or [email protected]
