Friends of Nathaniel Witherell Launches “Faces of Witherell” Annual Appeal Campaign

Screen Shot 2015-12-17 at 3.15.28 PMIf you live in Greenwich, chances are you received an annual appeal from The Friends of Nathaniel Witherell in you mailbox this past week. We hope you decided to participate in the appeal, as every dollar we receive helps continue our 112-year tradition of caring for the elderly in our Town when living at home is no longer an option, and providing state-of-the-art short-term rehabilitation for those on the mend.

The good news is it’s not too late to make a contribution! We’ve set up an easy-to-use microsite at friendsofwitherell.org that makes donating a breeze, and an electronic recognition form will be immediately emailed to you for your records.

Yes, every donation to The Friends has a positive impact on someone’s life here at the Witherell. For example, your dollars can fund something as simple as a resident’s round trip transportation to a doctor’s office to music therapy programs for those with Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia. Gifts to the Witherell also support physical, occupational, and speech therapy sessions; and cutting-edge equipment for our Rehabilitation Center. Your generosity will go a long way.

“Your contribution goes a long way towards helping each and every one of our residents and rehab patients. In fact, the theme of this year’s annual appeal is ‘Faces of Witherell,’ featuring photographs of many of those here at Witherell who will be positively impacted by your generosity,” says David Ormsby, Chairman of the Friends.

So, act now. Click here if you would like to make a donation to this year’s “Faces of Witherell” annual appeal campaign. We welcome any level of support!

About Nathaniel Witherell

Nathaniel Witherell is a short-term rehab and skilled nursing center located on 24 beautiful acres just two miles from downtown Greenwich. Witherell is committed to person-centered care provided by a compassionate and experienced staff. Rehab is available seven days a week. The nonprofit is owned and operated by the Town of Greenwich and has been serving the community for over 112 years.

Witherell reflects the community’s collective commitment to provide for the town’s elderly when home care is no longer an option. The vast majority of residents have lived their entire lives in Greenwich and supported the community in which we live. Nathaniel Witherell was recently recognized as “one of the best nursing homes in Connecticut” by U.S. News & World Report. For each year since the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services adopted its rating system in 2008, Witherell has enjoyed the Center’s coveted 5-star rating, a distinction granted to only 19% of the nursing homes in the United States.
