Prizes Fuel Fairfield County’s Giving Day on 3/9, Lots of Ways to Support the Witherell All Day Long!
Prizes and friendly competition are fueling this year’s Fairfield County’s Giving Day, adding fun and suspense to the local day of giving on Thursday, March 9. Thanks to generous sponsors, Fairfield County’s Community Foundation is able to offer over $100,000 in prizes that will be available for nonprofit prizes during Giving Day. The goal is to encourage individuals and businesses to support the work of outstanding local nonprofits such as The Nathaniel Witherell.
We hope you will give where you live! Your one click can help the Witherell exceed our goal of $7,500 in just 24 hours! Donations made on March 9 (between the hours of 12 am and 11:59 pm) will help the Friends of Nathaniel Witherell fund programs and services for our long-term care residents. In addition, special prize categories are offered throughout the day, providing extra opportunities to benefit the Witherell:
GRAND PRIZES
The following prizes will be awarded after the close of March 9th. Nonprofits are only eligible to win one Grand Prize.
Most Unique Donors Most Dollars Raised
1st place prize = $20,000 1st place prize = $15,000
2nd place prize = $10,000 2nd place prize = $10,000
3rd place prize = $5,000 3rd place prize = $5,000
WHOLE FOODS MARKET “GET UP AND GIVE” LAUNCH PRIZES
Beginning at 12:00am on March 9th, $1,000 prizes will be awarded to at least ten (10) nonprofits who are the first to receive 25 unique donations of $25 or more. For the second year, Whole Foods Market is generously fueling this prize category with their 5% Day scheduled on March 2, 2017. The number of awards will depend on revenue generated from their 5% Day. These prizes are intended to incentivize donors to donate early and quickly on Fairfield County’s Giving Day in order to receive a $1,000 Launch Prize for their favorite nonprofit.
THE COMMUNITY FOUNDATION’S “TOAST TO 25!” PRIZES
In honor of Fairfield County’s Community Foundation’s 25th year anniversary, the nonprofit that receives the 25th donation each hour(from 12am-11:59pm) will get a $250 boost prize.
“TOP OF THE MORNING” PRIZES
The two nonprofits (one from each budget category listed below) that raise the most dollars by 9am will each receive a $5,000 “Top of the Morning” prize.
Operating Budget Categories: Small – Under $500,000 Large – Over $500,000
POWER HOURS
Prizes will be awarded to the organizations with the most unique donors in the following hours. Nonprofits are only eligible to win one Power Hour Prize.
Morning Momentum Power Hour: 10am – 11am
-$1,000 awarded to a “Newbie,” defined as a nonprofit participating in Giving Day for the first time
-$1,000 awarded to a “Seasoned Enthusiast,” defined as a nonprofit that participated in the 2014, 2015 or 2016 Giving Day
$2,500 “Lunch is on us!” Power Hour: 12pm-1pm
Coffee Break Power Hour: 3pm-4pm
-$1,000 to a “Newbie,” defined as a nonprofit participating in Giving Day for the first time
-$1,000 to a “Seasoned Enthusiast,” defined as a nonprofit that participated in the 2014, 2015 or 2016 Giving Day
Prizes will be awarded to the organizations that raise the most dollars in the following hours:
$1,000 Happy Hour Power Hour: 6pm-7pm
$2,500 Big Finish Power Time between 10pm-11:59pm
