Friends of Witherell Pay Tribute to Dr. Francis X. Walsh at November 1st Event
Dr. Frank Walsh has been a beloved member of our medical team at the Witherell for many years. A skilled and dedicated physician with one of the busiest nephrology and internal medical practices in Greenwich, Dr. Walsh has served as our Medical Director since 2008.
On Thursday, November 1st, in recognition of his many years of service and support for Greenwich’s senior population, we’re pleased to honor Dr. Walsh at a reception at the Greenwich Country Club, beginning at 6:30pm.
“Beyond providing the best medical care to our 200+ skilled nursing and short-term rehabilitation residents, Dr. Walsh offers something equally important,” says Scott Neff, Executive Director of the Friends of Nathaniel Witherell. “Dr. Walsh is a compassionate and dynamic leader who has helped shape the warm and welcoming culture that sets the Witherell apart.”
Dr. Walsh’s tribute dinner will be a wonderful celebration that brings together many in the community who share his devotion to caring for our senior citizens when living at home is no longer an option. The evening will give friends, new and old, the opportunity to support the Witherell, the only town-owned and operated skilled nursing facility in Connecticut.
Also featured is special guest speaker, Dr. Catherine Cook Kaczorowski, an Associate Professor and Evnin Family Chair in Alzheimer’s Research from the Jackson Laboratory. Dr. Kaczorowski’s brain research focuses on understanding how the brain changes as we age so that cognitive decline may not be an inevitable part of aging. Her goal is to understand what factors make us more or less resilient or susceptible to cognitive decline. She’ll discuss her research and findings, and offer recommendations for optimal brain health.
