Nathaniel Witherell Eighth Annual Celebrity Invitational Golf Tournament a Huge Success
It couldn’t have been a more beautiful day for the Eighth Annual Witherell Celebrity Invitational Golf Tournament, which took place on Wednesday, Sept. 16 at the Griffith E. Harris Golf Course in Greenwich. Local sports celebrities in attendance included former heavy weight boxing contender Gerry Cooney, former New York Giants wide receiver Don Herrmann, and US Olympic Women’s Hockey Team gold medalist Sue Merz. Golfers enjoyed lunch, followed by 18 holes of golf. The event concluded with a cocktail reception and dinner, complete with a wonderful raffle and awards presentation. The funds raised will go toward enhancing the lives of the residents of The Nathaniel Witherell Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.
