Veteran’s Day: A Time To Reflect & Remember
America’s service veterans are a special group, and honoring them on Veteran’s Day is one of our favorite events. Each year, the Nathaniel Witherell partners with Masonicare of Connecticut for a “Day of Proclamation” in our chapel. Residents who served in diverse branches of our armed forces come together for a patriotic celebration and a chance to share stories over a delicious luncheon. Our veterans each receive a special proclamation as we thank them all for their service.
This year’s event featured a visit from “Uncle Sam,” a Masonicare administrator who helped salute our veterans in true patriotic fashion!
Here are some of the photos of this year’s celebration. Also featured here is a photo of one of our female veterans, Gladys Golden Costello. Mrs. Costello was a member of the Army Nurse Corps. We thank her for her service on Veteran’s Day, too!
